Samba administration working 24x7 to provide essential commodities to the residents

SAMBA-  In wake of the prevailing lockdown situation to contain spread of CoviD-19 pandemic, District Administration Samba has been working around the clock to make essential commodities including ration, food items, water and other articles available in each household of the district with prime focus on far-off village residents.
Following the directions of Deputy Commissioner, Rohit Khajuria, the Department of Food, Civil Supplies and Consumer Affairs is ensuring that under PMGKAY the enrolled beneficiaries of AAY, BPL, PHH Ration card holders are receiving Rice @5Kg per soul from the government sale depot in Samba, Nud, Sumb, Purmandal and other border tehsil of  the district besides advanced two months ration has also been supplied in the district.
The Assistant Director FCS&CA, Davinder Balowria informed that more than 85% coverage has been achieved in disbursement of advanced two months rationing among the beneficiaries in District Samba besides 45,000 families are being covered under newly launched scheme PMGKAY.
DC informed that a team of Revenue and FCS&CA officers has been constituted to identify all such habitants where there is scarcity of ration or other essential items and ensuring immediate supply of essential commodities. DC said members of Panchayats Raj Institutions have also been roped in for making sincere efforts in reaching out to public and a daily assessment meeting is also being conducted in his office regarding action taken report with nodal officers and other district officers.
DC appealed to the general public and sought full co-operation in following government directions issued from time to time including following the extension of lockdown period till 3rd May and has also assured that district administration will provide all the necessary assistance required regarding availability of essential items in the District. A helpline number has also been issued in this regard i.e 01923-246915.
